As parents and caregivers you have many important decisions to make regarding the education of your children. You are encouraged to provide for them the most appropriate educational opportunities that will cater to them as individuals, each with their own specific needs. Our school aims at meeting student needs by providing a learning environment that is nurturing, safe and friendly.

In 2017 St Edward’s school has an enrolment of 556 students from Prep to Year 6 and in accordance with the school’s vision, we aim to provide a safe environment where children are able to live and grow in faith, life and learning.  Conveniently located on a generous 8 hectares of land at 104 Chatswood Road Daisy Hill, our school prides itself on the spirit that can be found in our students, teachers, sporting teams, achievements, friendships and approach to learning.

Please enjoy browsing this website and I hope that it gives you an insight into what life is like at St Edward’s. If you would like further information or a possible visit to our school please contact us through the information and numbers outlined under the ‘Contacts’ menu.

Community News

This year one of our school goals is to increase the reading and writing achievements across the school. There has been some wonderful work achieved so far this year with teacher professional learning, tracking of students’ progress, development of effective practices in reading and writing and a range of collaborative processes, professional dialogue and class visits to support the initiatives.  Thank you to Mrs Sue Guy who has been supporting teachers in these developments. Sue will be guest speaker at our next P and F meeting on Wednesday 14th June 2:00pm in the staff room.

Thank you all for supporting our St Vinnie’s State of Origin Day. We raised $537 for the local St Vincent De Paul Conference and with all the food items being sent in we are building up their grocery shelves in preparation for winter. Thank you for supporting this community outreach.
As Christians, there are many ways in which we are called to action. Supporting our local St Vincent de Paul society is one example of the way in which we are called to support those in our community. The contribution from families in regards to the Mini Vinnie’s appeal, and other fundraising initiatives, has been absolutely amazing. Our efforts help to ensure that those in need are provided with food, clothing and other vital resources. But in addition to this, our children are taught the importance of giving to others. When engaged in social action and justice initiatives, children are taught two important dispositions: empathy (the capacity to stand in the shoes of another) and solidarity (the capacity to walk with another). This is a key component of what we call ‘The Religious Life of the School’. I am grateful to our families for playing such a pivotal role in helping children grow in their understanding of love, compassion and peace.

The booking window for Prep Parent Teacher Interviews opened on Monday afternoon and we have had a fantastic response so far. In the first 24 hours, well over half of our Prep cohort had interviews booked. Well done Prep Parents! The booking window will remain open until 11:59pm on Tuesday, 6 June. Interviews for Years 1-6 will be offered again to parents in Term 3. I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank our Prep teachers for being so generous with their time in accommodating interviews before and after school throughout Week 9.

Our School motto is "Together WE grow".
